March is usually just that awkward transition from winter to spring, but for anyone still clutching their phone in a park, March Pokemon Go 2025 is looking like a total overhaul. Honestly, it’s not just about the usual grind anymore. We are officially entering the "Might and Mastery" season, and Niantic is finally leaning hard into the Galar region.
You’ve probably seen the leaks. Or maybe you just noticed your nearby radar looking a bit "Dynamax-heavy" lately.
The big news? Kubfu is finally here. This legendary fighting-type isn't just a random spawn you'll find behind a Starbucks; it's tied to a season-long Special Research starting March 5. If you've played Sword and Shield, you know the drill. You get the bear, you train the bear, and eventually, you choose between the Single Strike or Rapid Strike Urshifu styles. It’s a literal game-changer for the Master League meta.
The March Pokemon Go 2025 Event Calendar
If you’re trying to plan your weekends, good luck. It’s packed.
The month kicks off with the Powerful Potential event from March 5 to March 10. This is the big debut for Shiny Charcadet. If you’ve been hatching 10km eggs like a madman hoping for that little fire knight, this is your best window.
But let’s talk about the Saturdays.
- March 8: Fuecoco Community Day. The "Fire Croc" is getting its time in the sun from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evolving it gives you a Skeledirge with Blast Burn, but the real kicker is that it can also learn Torch Song starting now. That move is basically a cheat code in GO Battle League because of the guaranteed attack buff.
- March 22: Community Day Classic: Totodile. If you missed the original Johto hype years ago, this is your chance for a Hydro Cannon Feraligatr. It still hits like a truck.
The middle of the month gets weird with the Dynamax Raikou Max Battle Weekend (March 15–16). This is the first time a Legendary Beast is getting the Max treatment. You’re going to need a solid squad of Ground-type Dynamax Mon—think Drilbur or even the newly available Dynamax Donphan—to take this thing down.
Raids and Max Mondays
Raids are cycling through the classics this month. From March 4 to 13, the Kanto trio (Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres) are taking over five-star raids. It’s nostalgic, sure, but the real prize comes later in the month when Tapu Koko returns with Nature’s Madness from March 13 to 22, followed by Heatran to close out the month.
Mega Raids aren't slacking either. We’ve got:
- Mega Lucario (Early March)
- Mega Swampert (Mid March)
- Mega Pinsir (Late March)
If you haven't maxed out a Lucario yet, do it. It’s arguably the most useful PvE attacker in the game.

Then there’s the "Max Monday" experiment. Every Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., a specific Dynamax Pokemon takes over all Power Spots.
March 10 features Drilbur.
March 17 is Chansey (yes, the pink tank).
March 24 is Caterpie.
March 31 ends with Scorbunny.
Basically, Mondays are now for Max Particles. Don't let your meter stay full; it's a waste of resources.
Spotlight Hours You Actually Care About
Tuesday nights (6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.) are the usual grab-bag, but two dates stand out for March Pokemon Go 2025.
March 11 features Roselia with double evolution XP. If you’ve been hoarding Pidgeys or Wurmples, this is the hour to pop a Lucky Egg and just mindlessly tap evolve while watching Netflix.
March 18 is the one I’m circling: Shellder with double catch Stardust. Shellder already gives a base of 1,000 Stardust per catch. Doubling that with a Star Piece active? You can easily walk away with 100k Stardust in an hour if you're in a high-density area.
Deep Depths and Bug Out
The end of the month slows down... slightly. The Deep Depths event (March 19–24) introduces Nickit to the wild. Finally, the thieving fox from Galar arrives. There’s also a half-hatch distance bonus during this window, so clear out those old eggs.
Then we wrap up with Bug Out (March 26–30). Sizzlipede makes its debut here. It's a fan favorite for a reason—its evolution, Centiskorch, looks incredible. We’re also getting increased shiny odds for Venipede and Wurmple. It’s a low-stakes event, but great for shiny hunters who missed out on the purple bug.
Actionable Tips for March
Stop hoarding your Max Particles. Use them on Drilbur and Beldum early in the month so you have high-level counters for the Dynamax Raikou weekend. If you’re low on Stardust, ignore everything else and go hard on the Shellder Spotlight Hour on March 18. Make sure you have at least 200 Ultra Balls saved for Fuecoco Day on the 8th; Skeledirge is going to be a top-tier contender in the Ultra League this season, and you’ll want a high-IV specimen with those exclusive moves. Finally, keep your Research Breakthroughs in mind. Alolan Marowak and Charcadet are in the pool this month, so don't miss a day of field research.
